‘Arogya Kavacha’ helpline is safe

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Satyam has a connection with Arogya Kavacha, the Karnataka Government’s recently inaugurated emergency response service 108.

The IT major is the integrated solutions provider and technology partner of Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) which runs the helpline in eight States, including Karnataka. It was Satyam which developed the software and integrated solutions from multiple vendors and provided technology expertise to EMRI. Will the Satyam catastrophe affect the functioning of the service? “Not at all. They are only our technology providers and we have an agreement with the company to upgrade the technology as and when required,” EMRI Chief Executive Officer Venkat Changavallai told The Hindu on Thursday.

“There is no problem of any sort. We have an in-house maintenance team to maintain the technology regularly,” he said, and added that the service will continue in all the eight States without any hitches.
