Sharon advances

KOCHI: Sharon CC and AG’s Office Recreation Club entered the second round of the 22nd BPCL Kochi Refinery all-India cricket tournament a the BPC Oval here on Friday.

Sharon CC rode on Ajith Kumar’s all-round performance to defeat New Kids CC by eight wickets while AG’s office scored a three-wicket win over President’s XI.

The scores: New Kids CC 99 in 22 overs (Nithin Aravind 44, Ajith Kumar five for 15) lost to Sharon CC 103 for two in 20.2 overs (Ajith Kumar 39 n.o.).

Presidents XI 169 for seven in 30 overs (Jaison George 65, P.V. Vineeth Kumar 56) lost to AG’s Office Recreation Club, Thrissur 173 for seven in 29 overs (Davis Manavalan 74 no, P.V. Vineeth Kumar four for 44).
