Road work begins

Kozhikode: Minister for Public Works Mons Joseph inaugurated the renovation work on the Thadambattuthazham-Parambilkkadavu-Kannadikkal road here on Friday.

The State government had earlier sanctioned Rs.1.15 crore for renovating this two-km road. The amount has been sanctioned under the MLA local development funds. A. Pradeepkumar, MLA representing Kozhikode-I, had taken up the issue with the government for the project.

The work includes widening the road by five metres, tarring and constructing three culverts.

Apart from that, the height of the road will be increased at some places. Drains will be constructed along the roadside.

Deputy Mayor P.T. Abdul Latheef, councillor P.K. Mamukoya participated.
