Semifinalists spotted

Mumbai: Aditya Mehta overcame Manan Chandra 5-4 to set up a semifinal match-up with Alok Kumar M.S. Arun got past Yasin Merchant 5-3 in the other quarterfinal and will face Brijesh Damani for a place in the final of the Nahar MIG Cricket Club all-India invitation snooker tournament.

Aditya won 106-14, 79-6, 68-75, 64-36, 0-97, 66-10, 21-80, 58-71, 72-47 in the quarterfinal, while Arun got the better of Yasin 61-30, 68-34, 50-58, 80-49, 25-54, 14-85(64), 65-52, 71-68 and Brijesh beat Rupesh Shah 63-45, 60-27, 94-40, 73-44, 66-36 in other quarterfinals.

Alok defeated Kamal Chawla 31-56, 65-53, 68-51, 67-57, 23-85, 15-62, 70-67, 47-1. Special Correspondent
