Ongole in last four

VIJAYAWADA: Ongole defeated Srikalulam 3-1, while Eluru beat Vijayawada 2-0 to enter the semifinals of the second Dutta Prasad Memorial State-level invitation football tournament at the AC College grounds at Guntur on Saturday.

Guntur will clash with Ongole, while Eluru will play against Nellore in the semifinals on Sunday.

The results: Ongole bt Srikakulam 3-1;Eluru bt Vijayawada 2-0.

Abhinav advances

Abhinav defeated P.K. Narayana 8-6, while C. Praneeth beat Jyothi Goud with an identical margin in the first round of the under-14 qualifying round of the all-India Talent Series tennis tournament at the NTR Stadium at Guntur on Saturday.

The tournament will conclude on January 17.

Kho kho tournaments

Acharya Nagarjuna University will organise the South-West and all India inter-zonal inter-University kho kho tournaments for men from January 21 to 29.

Netball trials

The Andhra Pradesh Netball Association will conduct trials to select the State teams for the Ranchi National Games at Khammam on January 12.
