A new Palace on Wheels

NEW DELHI: The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railways have joined hands again to launch a new luxury train, “Royal Rajasthan on Wheels”, that will be flagged off from Safdarjang railway station here on Sunday by Union Tourism Minister Ambika Soni, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Union Minister of State for Railways Naranbhai J. Rathwa.

The seven-day sojourn on the train promises to be a heady mix of Rajasthan’s pristine historic experience. With a capacity for 82 people, the train will have 13 deluxe saloons and one super deluxe saloon, four service cars and two restro bars. A top-class spa and wi-fi facilities are also in the offing.

The itinerary of the train will be the same as the Palace on Wheels. It will leave Delhi at 6-30 p.m. and start on its week-long journey through Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Sawai Madhopur among other places before terminate in Delhi. Because of technical difficulties, the train will not go to Bikaner this season as announced earlier.
