Constable held for accepting bribe

NEW DELHI: A Delhi Police constable has been arrested for allegedly demanding and receiving a bribe from a contractor.

Shyam Dev of Nehru Nagar had recently made a complaint to the Anti-Corruption Branch saying that Constable Sukhbir Singh, posted at the Anand Parvat police station, had demanded bribe for allowing him to construct flats.

The complainant claimed that he had paid Rs.90,000 to the constable who was demanding another Rs.27,000. The ACB sleuths found the facts true and allegedly arrested Constable Sukhbir Singh red-handed.
