Farm fete from January 16

KOCHI: Hundred participants have confirmed their presence in the forthcoming Kerala Agri-Food Business Show 2009, being organised here between January 16 and 18 at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor.

Of the 100 participants, 60 are from within the State and the rest of the participants have been drawn from various parts of the country, said a spokesman for the organisers of the Agri-Food Business Show here.

The Show is being held under the aegis of the State Department of Industries and Commerce, with a view, among other things, to create a unique programme and forum of its kind to facilitate intra and inter-State interaction between players in the agriculture, food processing and allied industries.

The major focus of the Agri show will be agri machinery and equipment, organic farming and produces, animal husbandry and breeding, dairy, poultry and veterinary and floriculture and horticulture.

The exhibition will showcase products, knowledge-based skills and technology available in Kerala for the rest of the national agricultural business circuit.

The Business Show, the first of its scale and nature being organised in the State, will also provide a stage for exposing the food processors and allied agricultural businesses in Kerala to the developments in technology outside the State. The Agri Business Show will provide exclusive exhibition areas for participants from inside and outside the State. There will also be conferences on the food processing industry.
