BANGALORE: Punjab scored a hard-fought 25-19, 23-25, 20-25, 25-15, 15-10 win over Puducherry in a boys’ Group ‘C’ encounter of the 35th junior National volleyball championship at Chinnakurali in Mandya district on Monday. Host Karnataka had it easy against Assam, winning 25-6, 25-12, 25-13. Tamil Nadu got off to a flying start in the girls’ section, beating Goa 25-5, 25-3, 25-7 in a Group ‘C’ tie. The results (league): Boys: Group ‘B’: Karnataka bt Assam 25-6, 25-12, 25-13; Chandigarh bt Bihar 25-19, 25-23, 25-13; Tamil Nadu w/o MP.
