Two militants, two policemen killed in Rajouri

Jammu: Two militants, believed to be those who escaped an Army offensive at Poonch recently, were killed in an encounter in the Rajouri belt. The Jammu and Kashmir police lost two of their men in the gun battle, which is continuing.

On a tip-off that five militants were hiding in the Tringa Gala area in Rajouri, a police team launched a search operation, Noushera Superintendent of Police R.K. Bhat said. The police teams intercepted the groups and two militants believed to be of the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad were killed. A search was on for the others. — PTI
