Giving details: Collector G. Ragesh Chandra with representatives of political parties in Puducherry on Tuesday. PUDUCHERRY: A total of 18,861 voters were included in the Union Territory during a special summary revision of electoral rolls. Collector G. Rahesh Chandra on Tuesday held a meeting with representatives of political parties to brief them about revised electoral roll after the summary revision. Details available with The Hindu showed that the Union Territory had a total of 7,37,382 electors as per the draft roll. The Election Commission received 40,653 applications during the summary revision, of which 13,772 were rejected after scrutiny. Among 30 constituencies spread in the four regions, the Ozhukarai Assembly segment reported 4. 62 per cent increase in number of voters, which was the highest. The next constituency that showed the maximum increase of 4. 36 per cent was Nellithope. It was followed by Ariankuppam with 3.95 per cent and the reserved constituency of Thirubhuvanai with 3.91 per cent. Not a single constituency reported any decline in number of voters. The lowest increase of 0.93 per cent was reported in Naravy-T.R. Pattinam in the Karaikal region, followed by Mahe, which reported 1.08 per cent increase. The draft electoral roll showed that Ariankuppam had 27,873 voters, which was the highest, followed by Mahe (27,424 voters), Mangalam (26,992), Yanam (26,499) and Villianur (26,320).
