KOLKATA: The Infosys episode last week and the Wipro revelation on Monday, does not seem to be portraying a negative image about the country to overseas companies or institutions, which are still keen on forging linkages with the country. This was stated by the leader of a U.K. information and communication technology (ICT) mission, which arrived here on Monday to explore the possibility of joint bidding for EU funded projects in the ICT space. The nine-member delegation from the Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce is also keen to forge linkages between Coventry University Enterprises Ltd, the trading arm of Coventry University, with universities and business schools. Speaking to The Hindu, Ajay Desai, the leader, said “Companies are interested in India even now, because its story is still one of growth while globally, the forecast is of shrinkage.” The delegation kicked off its nearly week-long stay, meeting with corporate houses and chambers of commerce on Monday. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
