Tax exemption welcomed

Bangalore: The Karnataka (Recognised) Unaided School Managements’ Association (KUSMA) has welcomed the exemption of professional tax for teachers of unaided schools in the State Budget 2009-10. In a release, KUSMA president G.S. Sharma said over two lakh teachers would benefit from this exemption. If managements of schools and colleges are exempted from paying professional tax, it would benefit lakhs of parents across the State, he said. — Staff Reporter
