CHENNAI: All the eighth round matches of the TNCA first division league ended in draws here on Saturday. At the Southern Railway Institute ground, the host’s second innings folded up at 215 against Parry’s. Left-arm spinner Rahil Shah claimed five for 52 to take his match haul to 10 for 114. Parry’s skipper N. Raghavendran picked up his 50th wicket of the season. Parry’s batted for 37 overs to make 192 for seven in its second innings before the match was called off. Dramatic collapseAt Pachaiyappa’s ‘A’, Globe Trotters lost its last three wickets for three runs in five overs to fall short of Jolly Rovers’ score by two runs. Resuming at 171 for two, Sunny Gupta and M. Senthilnathan’s half-centuries helped Trotters reach 327 for seven before the side slid to 330 all out. Aruna was shot out for 137 in its first innings against India Pistons at CPT-IP. Aruna was 98 for one in its second innings when the match was called off. Young Stars gained five points against Alwarpet at MAC. The latter declared its second innings at 185 for four when the contest ended. Vijay, too, took five points from its encounter against Indian Bank at IC-Guru Nanak. The Bank team made 202 for six in its second essay. At SRMC, UFCC declared its second innings at 198 for five against Grand Slam before play was called off. Grand Slam finished with five points.
