Nana’s best forgotten
Dimple Kapadia
Dimple Kapadia, who rarely makes a public appearance these days, made an exception for the launch of Mehul Kumar’s Krantiveer — The Revolution, the sequel to the 1994 blockbuster Krantiveer, which starred Nana Patekar and Dimple in the lead. Dressed in a lovely green churidaar kameez, the Bobby girl-turned-glam grandma gave the mahurat clap along with Nana Petakar. The film marks the debut of Mehul Kumar’s daughter Jahan Bloch (she played Nana’s daughter in the original film). Talking about Jahan, Dimple commented: “I have done two films with Mehul (Krantiveer and Mrityudaata) and I have seen Jahan growing up. I wish them all the best.” Reminiscing about the original film, Dimple added: “Till today, people call me kalamvali bai. I think it’s a huge compliment that they remember the character.” However, when asked what she remembers of her co-star Nana Patekar, the actress said tongue-in-cheek “Unke bare mein na hi yaad karen toh hi behtar hai (It is better to not think of him!).” What what Nana Patekar would have to say about this!
