Bangalore: In view of the “Kamakshamba Pallakki Utsava” on Saturday near Ulsoor, the city police have imposed restrictions on vehicular movement in the vicinity of Ulsoor from 9 a.m. on Saturday to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Restrictions have been put place as a large number of devotees are expected to take part in the “Hoovina Pallakki Utsava” of Goddess Kamakshamba, Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said in a release. Vehicular movement has been banned on Swami Vivekananda Road towards Trinity Church Road; from Adarsha Theatre to Swami Vivekananda Road; on Ulsoor Road from Begum Mahal Junction to Swami Vivekananda Road Junction, and on Cambridge Road from 1st Cross to Ramaiah Circle, the release said. Vehicles coming from Jogupalya G Street towards Ramaiah Circle will be stopped at Corporation Community Hall and motorists driving towards K.R. Puram, Bayappanahalli, Indiranagar and Jeevan Bima Nagar have to pass through Kensington Road, Murphy Road and Old Madras Road. Motorists from K.R. Puram, Indiranagar and Jeevan Bima Nagar can reach M.G. Road through Kensington Road, MEG Gate, Annaswamy Mudaliar Road and Dickenson Road. In view of the event, sale of liquor in Ulsoor, Indiranagar, Jeevan Bhima Nagar and Bharathi Nagar has been banned between 9 a.m. on Saturday to 6 p.m. on Sunday. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
