Second place in campaigning goes to Anaparti and third place to Mandapeta East Godavari district is biggest district in the State Rajahmundry: Loud speaker sounds were brought down to decimal point. Roadshows, rallies and allegations and counter-allegations during last 20 days through media had ended. Most of the leaders are now busy with polling strategies, distribution of slips, appointing polling agents and waiting for polling day. Observers feel that `big fight’ is going to be seen between political stalwart Vundavalli Arun Kumar on one side and two old-time heroes U.V. Krishnam Raju and Maganti Murali Mohan on the other side. Most of the campaigning `hungama’ was witnessed in Kakinada, where NRI Chalamalasetty Sunil is fielded as PRP candidate and his spending is more compared to other candidates. Second place in campaigning goes to Anaparti and third place to Mandapeta respectively. `Aditya’ Educational Institutions head MLC Nallamilli Sesha Reddy, contractor DRK Reddy of PRP and Nallamilli Moola Reddy of TDP have done maximum campaigning in last 20 days. Mandapeta which is a stronghold for Chowdary community and contesting candidates from three main parties, who are also Chowdaries, spent lavishly in campaigning. Film producer VVS Chowdary of PRP, landlord Vegulla Jogeswararao of TDP and Bikkina Krishnarjuna Chowdary of Congress are in keen contest in this constituency. East Godavari district is biggest district in the State having 19 Assembly and three Lok Sabha seats and the judgment of the voters of this district generally decides the formation of the government in state capital. “This has been happening for last three decades, which party wins maximum number of seats here will form the government in the state.
