On rural track!

After snatching the top slot from Star Plus, Colors continues to revel in small India. The latest is ‘Bhagyavidhata,’ set in Motihari, Bihar.

It is the story of a girl who is forced to marry a kidnapped boy because her family doesn’t have money to pay dowry. Let’s hope this time the channel keeps things real and doesn’t go the ‘Laado’ way!

Engaging kids

As the summer gets hotter, channels are trying to engage kids in different ways. Nick has tied up with leading theatre personality Raell Padamsee and encourages kids to participate in Padamsee’s workshops.

The fun element is they will get an opportunity to learn with their superhero Ninja Hattori. Meanwhile, Pogo is coming up with a new show ‘Pogo All Stars’ to be hosted by Cyrus Sahukar.

Plenty of Mithun

Zee TV is busy resurrecting Mithun Chakraborty. After making him a grandmaster in ‘Dance India Dance,’ its sister channel is hosting a festival of his films. It is also running a contest where the winner will get an opportunity to meet Mithunda. The films on show include ‘Watan Ke Rakhwale,’ ‘Aadmi’ and ‘Phool Aur Angaar.’ Any takers?
