8,635 seats available for Plus One humanities stream

KOCHI: About 8,635 seats are available in the general merit category for the Plus One programme in humanities and commerce streams in Ernakulam district.

The total intake in the general merit category for humanities is 3,145 while the commerce stream has 5,490 seats.

According to the figures available with the Regional Deputy Director of the Higher Secondary Education, the combination of history, economics, political science, and sociology has the highest number of seats in the humanities group. There are 1,021 seats in the general merit category while the sports quota has 34 seats. Nearly 375 seats are available under the management quota in this combination.

About 1,040 seats are available in the history, economics, political science, geography combination in humanities group. There are 887 seats under the general merit category while the sports quota has 30 seats. Nearly 123 seats are available under the management quota.

The history, economics, political science and geology combination has 116 seats in the general merit category. In the sports quota, there are four seats. There are 189 seats in the general merit section in the history, economics, political science and Gandhian studies combination. The intake for sports and management quota are six and 65 seats respectively.

The history, economics, Sanskrit sahitya and Sanskrit Sastra combination has 58 seats in the general merit category. There are 167 seats in the general merit category for the history, economics, political science and statistics combination. About 372 seats are available in the economics, Gandhian studies, communicative English and computer applications combination. There are 176 management seats in this section.

For the sociology, journalism, communicative English, computer applications combination, the intake in the general merit category is 29.

In the commerce stream, the combination of business studies, accountancy, economics, and computer applications has the highest number of seats in the general merit category – 3,221. The intake in the management quota is 1,023. There are 1035 seats in the combination of business studies, accountancy, economics, and political science.

The number of management seats in this section is 145.

The combination of business studies, accountancy, economics and mathematics has 880 seats in the general merit category. The intake in the management quota is 190.

For the business studies, accountancy, economics, statistics combination, the intake in the general merit category is 354 seats while the management quota has 44 seats.

There are 12 seats under the sports quota in this section.
