JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation has started working on an action plan to bring all milk producers’ associations to the position of profit within the next one year. New criteria for inspection will also ensure transparency in the functioning of associations and prevent misuse of funds. Minister of State for Dairy Babulal Nagar said in Ajmer over the weekend that the State Government had for the first time taken some significant decisions to disentangle milk producers’ associations from perpetual losses. “The benefits of these decisions will be visible very soon,” he added. The tenders in the milk associations will be invited on a “global basis” to rule out the scope for manipulations, while the surplus staff will be sent to the places where more manpower is needed. Mr. Nagar said special efforts would be made to improve the collection of milk in the areas of paucity. Marketing networkThe Minister said the Federation would strengthen its marketing network and extend the cattle insurance, medi-claim, mobile veterinarian, pension and “Saras” security cover schemes presently operative in Ajmer to other centres. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
