Woman set afire, dies

VELLORE: Devi (20), wife of Govindasamy, a soldier from Jambukulam in Vaniyambadi taluk, sustained severe burns when her husband allegedly poured kerosene on her and set her afire on Tuesday night. The incident followed a wordy quarrel between the two that took place at the house of Devi’s mother in Veppalappatti . She died at Government Vellore Medical College Hospital on Wednesday.
