A two-day Animoolam festival is being celebrated at Sri Bhaktha Anjaneyar temple, Fourth Cross Street, AGS Colony, Kottivakkam, on July 5 and 6. The events preceding the festival will begin on July 5 with ‘Go’ puja at 7.15 a.m. followed by special abhishekam and alankaram. In the evening a discourse on ‘Known Puranas and unknown stories,’ by J. Krishnaswamy will take place at 7.15 p.m. A special samashti homam will be performed on July 6, 6.45 a.m. followed by special homams, abishekam, alankaram and archanai. To be part of the homam, devotees can contribute Rs. 100. A discourse on ‘Hanumath Prabhavam’ will be presented by Mukundagiri Vankipuram Anantha Padmanabhachariyar Swamigal at 7 p.m. Donations as cash or kind are welcome. Sri Maha Sudarsana Jayanthi Mahotsavam is being celebrated at Sri Oppiliappan Pattabhisheka Ramar Temple, Srinivasan Road, Ram Nagar North, Puzhudhivakkam, from July 1 to 5. Sri Maha Sudarsana Homam will be performed on July 5, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. For details call 24952720; 22582333.
