Music competition

Sri Ariyakkudi K.V. Narayanaswamy Memorial Trust, F1, Land Marvel Apartments, 30, Sadayappan Street, Mandaveli, is conducting its annual carnatic music competition on July 5, at P.S. Senior Secondary School, Alarmelmangapuram, Mylapore.

The competition will be held under three categories: sub-junior, junior and senior levels.

For violin competition anyone up to the age group of 20 is eligible to participate.

A list containing one varnam and five compositions of any composers is to be submitted.

Mridangam competition is divided into two categories (junior and senior level). Junior level (11-16 years) three talams and senior level (17-25 years) four thalams in minimum three nadais.

As part of their 20th year music and cultural festival, Deiveega Eyal Esai Mandram, Adambakkam, has organised various competitions viz., recitation of Tamil slokas (below six years), Tirukkural (below 11 years) and vocal, mridangam and oratorical competitions (below 16 years).

The event will be held on August 9 at Ramanujam Vanaja Dyana Mandapam, Arulmigu Sundara Vinayakar Temple, near NGO Colony, Adambakkam.
