A concert to pay tribute to composers and lyricists of popular Hindi film songs

Satrangi organises a concert “Inhe Bhool Na Jaana” on July 5, 6 p.m. at Chinmaya Heritage Centre, Chetpet.

There are many popular songs in Hindi films of the 50s, 60s and 70s that were the works of relatively unknown composers and lyricists. For instance, few will know the lyricist of the famous Asha Bhonsle song “Aao Huzoor Tumko which was set to music by O.P.Nayyar or the composer of the Talat Mahmood classic “Tasveer Banata Hoon”. “Inhe Bhool Na Jaana” is a tribute by Satrangi to these rare composers and lyricists whose songs are popular even today. The programme will feature songs from movies such as “Pakeezah”, “Mahal”, “Kora Kaagaz”, “Howrah Bridge”, “Jhumroo”, “Parvarish” and “Post Box No 999”.

The singers for the evening are Pramod, Surojit, Shruti and Jaya. The orchestra is from Chennai and Calicut.

Tickets will be home delivered on calling 99625 78073 or 98847 78073,
