GUNTUR: The Guntur District Coordination Committee has suggested to the State Government to stop all kinds of Governmental support or subsidies to the families, which perpetrate acid attacks in future in addition to legal measures.

At a meeting of the Coordination Committee here on Friday, District Collector Ramanjaneyulu, Superintendent of Police Sankha Bratha Bagchi and Joint Collector Gaurav Uppal made this recommendation to the State Government.

The SP said any person found to be the source of the acid used in any attack would also be made party to the crime and cases booked against them also. All acid dealers, would be strictly asked to maintain registers of stocks and name of purchasers, purpose etc. the meeting resolved.

Social boycott would begin with cutting the power supply, water supply, subsidies under schemes and PDS supply, the Collector said. Acid attack accused Illa Bullabbai was arrested and paraded on the streets of Narsaraopet town on Friday morning to send a message to the people at large that stringent action would be taken against those resorting to such acts.

The accused said it was alleged illegal affair of his wife that instigated him to resort to the act.

Meanwhile, condition of victims Sivaparvathi and her daughter Meenakshi remained critical and they were shifted to Nagarjuna Hospital in Vijayawada for getting treatment under Arogya Sri.

District Collector and Joint Collector promised all possible help and proposed treatment under Arogya Sri at Vijayawada,

GGH Superintendent D. Phanibhushan told The Hindu. They were sent in an ambulance to the Vijayawada hospital.
