Man charged with multiple crimes arrested

‘A bad character of Muzaffarnagar’

NEW DELHI: A 24-year-old registered bad character of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police.

Three stolen luxury cars, two sophisticated pistols and 26 cartridges have allegedly been seized.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team arrested Amit alias Sanjay at Burari here on Thursday afternoon. During interrogation, Amit purportedly told the police that he and his accomplices were involved in several cases of carjacking in different States.

The gang had rented three flats at Dilshad Garden in Delhi and Shalimar Garden in Ghaziabad as hide-outs.

According to the police, 15 cases of attempt to murder, robbery, theft and assault are registered against Amit at various police stations in Uttar Pradesh.
