BANGALORE: B. Bhaskar was in scintillating form in the final of the State senior ranking billiards tournament, which concluded at the KSBA Hall here on Saturday. Potting with poise and accuracy, Bhaskar outclassed veteran B.V. Srinivasamurthy in straight frames at 150-10, 150-34, 150-11, 150-24 and 150-100 to win the title. Final placings (top five): 1. B. Bhaskar, 2. B.V. Srinivasamurthy, 3. D. Raj Kumar, 4. D. Manudev, 5. Arvind Savur. Leela Shankar, a former goalkeeper for the MEG hockey team, who represented Karnataka in several events and also played for Rest of India XI, passed away after a prolonged illness at Chennai on Saturday. The Karnataka State Hockey Association condoled his death and hailed his contribution to the game. State-ranking TTIndian Oil Corporation, as a part of its Golden Jubilee celebration, will sponsor a State-ranking table tennis tournament to be organised by the Karnataka Table Tennis Association here at the KGS indoor stadium from July 30 to August 2.
