SPREADING VALUES: The Gandhiya rath yatra being taken out in Dindigul on Friday. DINDIGUL: Gandhiya rath yatra was taken out in the district to propagate Gandhian principles, including total prohibition, non-violence, rural economy and natural medicine, among people in urban and rural areas.Launching the yatra on the east bank of Gopala Samudram tank near here on Friday, Gandhigram Rural University former Vice-Chancellor N. Markandan said principles of Gandhiji should be propagated among people, particularly young generation to create a society without caste and creed discrimination. The rath yatra will go to several government and aided schools, colleges, non-governmental organisations and village and town panchayats till July 9. The yatra will conclude at 6 p.m. on July 9 at clock tower in Dindigul town where a public meeting will be held, he added. Distribution of pamphlets and campaigns at villages and schools in rural areas will be done during rath yatra.
