TIRUCHI: Immediate action was taken on 5,606 grievance petitions submitted by the public at the recently concluded Jamabandhi (submission of revenue accounts) in all the eight taluks of Tiruchi district, said District Collector T. Soundiah, here on Thursday. He said that as many as 11,842 grievance petitions were received at the Jamabandhi conducted in the eight taluks of Tiruchi, Srirangam, Mannachanallur, Lalgudi, Thuraiyur, Musiri, Thottiyam and Manapparai from June 18 to 30 of which the revenue officials took immediate action and redressed 5,606 petitions. The Collector said that action would be taken on the remaining 6,236 petitions in a fortnight’s time after conducting proper verification on the petitions. He said that out of the 464 petitions received in Tiruchi taluk, spot action was taken on 254 petitions. In eight taluksSimilarly, grievances of 159 petitioners were redressed out of 717 petitions received in Srirangam taluk, 602 etitioners out of 1,957 in Mannachanallur taluk, 819 petitioners out of 1,816 received in Lalgudi taluk, 1,701 petitioners out of 2,256 in Thuraiyur taluk, 1,106 petitioners out of 2,295 in Musiri taluk, 565 petitioners out of 898 petitions received in Thottiyam taluk and 400 petitioners out of 1,439 in Manapparai taluk. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
