Assam flood situation critical

GUWAHATI: One person drowned in floods in Assam on Saturday, with the upper and lower parts of the State coming under water overflowing from the Brahmaputra and its tributaries.

At least four lakh people have been affected and the situation has turned critical.

The rivers breached the danger mark at Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Morigaon, Barpeta and Guwahati after incessant rain in the catchment areas.
