Learning the nuances of robotics

It was fun, yet competitive. Exhibiting their talent in designing, developing applications and operating robots in a week, students had a good learning experience at the International Institute of Information Technology-Hyderabad’s (IIIT-H) RoboCamp 2009.

Conducted by the IIIT-H Robotics Club, the event this year saw participation of over 190 students across the country, indicating robotics as the new craze among students.

The students camp up with a mobile operated robot, a flying dragon robot, a surveillance robot and many more interesting creations using simple robot-building techniques.

The components used were sensors, micro-controllers, DC motors, etc.

The six-day workshop is conducted every year and students are taught basics in robot building techniques, wireless robot control, navigation using visual experience.
