Hard work rewarded
R. Badri Narayan, a student of SRM Nightingale Matric Higher Secondary School, had good news awaiting him on the morning the Std XII results were announced. He had topped the exams in his school which meant he was set to receive a full scholarship from his school for his college education — all four years. Badri says “I didn’t expect to top the exam because I expected to perform well in the Std X exams but didn’t. So I didn’t want to have any expectations this time as well. But I am happy that I did.”
The coaching and the year-long exams conducted in school helped him with the main exams, says he. And yet, during the Chemistry and Computer Science exams, Badri slept little during the night. He has now opted to pursue B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering at SRM University and hopes to follow it up with an MS. “Badri is a disciplined, hardworking student whom I expected to score more because I know he had the potential to,” shares his Principal Mrs. Shanti Sukumar. And speaking of the scholarship programmes, “It is awarded every year to the toppers from different streams who can choose whatever course they want to purse from our group of institutions and they get a full fee waiver,” she said.
