Children rescued

Officials of the Labour and Factories Departments, the Police and the National Child Labourers Programme coordinators rescued two child workers employed in goldsmithies here during a raid conducted on July 2. According to an official release, raids were conducted at Vysial Street, Ondipudur, Kurichi, Podanur, Sundarapuram and Karadimadai. Murugesh (12) and Illango (12), who were from Coimbatore and Salem and were rescued from the smithies, were helped to join the special schools here for rehabilitated child workers.
