As Disney celebrates Pinocchio’s 70th anniversary, the legendary character which inspired generations is back in a digitally-restored avatar. “Pinocchio” remains one of the most endearing, magical, musical classics ever to grace the silver screen. The 2-disc DVD pack transports you into Pinocchio’s fantastic world as we join Geppetto’s beloved puppet on an exciting quest that tests Pinocchio’s bravery, loyalty and honesty, virtues he must learn to become a real boy. He is joined by the irrepressible Jimmy Cricket as his guide or conscience keeper. The film unfolds with Jiminy singing “When You Wish upon a Star.” Through a storybook, we see the workshop of artist Geppetto. Jiminy walks into the workshop and notices a puppet Geppetto is working on. Geppetto names the puppet Pinocchio. While going to bed, he notices a falling star in the sky and wishes that Pinocchio could be a real boy. While everybody is sleeping, Jiminy wakes up and notices a Blue Fairy entering the room. She makes Pinocchio come alive since Geppetto has always been a good man. Pinocchio is still nothing more than a puppet. If he wants to become a real boy, he must prove himself to be able to tell right from wrong. Pinocchio doesn’t understand what a conscience is. The Blue Fairy then assigns Jiminy with the title of acting as Pinocchio’s conscience. But things are not easy as they seem to be, as Pinnocchio discovers in the real world. The digital restoration has given the film enhanced picture and sound quality. As the bonus package there are never-before-seen deleted scenes and alternate ending. Also, there are Pinocchio puzzles in a multi-tiered format and trivia about the popular character.
