Chitraloka, the popular Kannada film website, is in its 10th glamorous year



The who’s who Of the Kannada film industry were there

Chitraloka.com, the popular website dedicated to Kannada films is in its 10th glamorous year of filmdom on the Internet. Started with the sole purpose of providing information and analysis on events in the Kannada film industry in English, the site has a dedicated following.

Run by veteran photojournalist K.M. Veeresh, who is also a contributor to The Hindu, Chitraloka scored with quick updates and news delivery, a large archive of photos and materials that brought innumerable hits for the site, specially from Kannadigas in the USA, Canada, UK, Middle East, Asia and Australia.

A photo exhibition featuring around 2,650 of Veeresh’s photographs a few years ago that showcased the history of the Kannada film industry and its glory in all dimensions, won him an entry into the Limca Book of Records.

The recent celebration to commemorate the success of the website saw prominent Kannada film personalities congratulate Veeresh — Parvarthamma Rajkumar, Jayamala, Yogaraj Bhat, S. Narayan, Rajendra Kumar Arya, Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, Richard Castilino, Master Kishan, Dwarkish, Daththatreya, Prem, B.C. Patil, Shashikumar, Vinod Raj, Jayanthi, Anu Prabhakar, Gurukiran, and of course, a host of fellow journalists.
