‘Hungama’ on the lawns SUKANYA CHELLAPPA
Unwinding For stress-free moments
BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY, KHAJAMALAI CAMPUS The Hangout: The lawn Rush Hour: After class hours Where it’s at: In front of the entrance to the main building. What’s to love: These bunch of students do not worry about the grass being greener on the other side as they casually sit and chit-chat on the neatly manicured lawns of the college campus. They say they live for the moment and have a great time here. The place helps to relax, rewind and rejoice over even small things in life. They revel teasing one another, discussing about movies, music, sports, comedy tracks from films, SMS-ing jokes, holding conference calls over mobiles. They talk shop about getting entrepreneurial or the job scenario or current trends in the industry. Says K.R.Naveen, MCA Final Year Student: “We also saunter around with our lap tops and get online sitting in any nook and corner of the campus, as we have the privilege of Wi-Fi connectivity. This helps us to do so many useful things like writing blogs, reading technological articles, downloading music or e-mailing.” Another Final Year student R. Thajudheen, shares: “We had a great time conducting a national level symposium as we were given lot of freedom and also guided perfectly by our faculty. The symposium was a huge success and also earned as life time friends.” They are up and running when anyone gets into any problem or when they face any hardship. Though, they are driven by technology, they live and stand by strong human values. They are always there for one another. What’s not to: Anything related to politics is not their choice and this seems to be off from the purview of their gupshup sessions. Alternatives: They also love being together at the canteen as it lets them to rate and talk about tea and technology in the same breath!
