In Kaushik’s company
In focus Sheila Dikshit with Satish Kaushik and the film’s lead cast at the launch in New Delhi
After the Himesh Reshammiya starrer Karzz made an unsuccessful attempt at the box office last year, actor-director Satish Kaushik is trying his luck yet again with Tere Sang, a film that deals with a senstive social issue — teenage pregnancy. The film, to be released soon under the banner of Karol Bagh Film and Entertainment Private Limited, saw its music release in New Delhi the other day. None other than Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit released the album. At the launch event, Dikshit was heard saying, “I think Satish Kaushik has taken a very serious and bold theme which is also very contemporary. The subject is very much in the minds of growing up children but most of us ignore it.” Kaushik added his bit, “I read about some cases of teenage pregnancy on the Internet and realised it is an issue which should be raised.” The music CD comprises two songs, “Maula mila de mere yaar se” and “More sayyan”. While one is a promotional song, the other is from the film. Pen music is behind the film’s music composition. Karol Bagh
Kaushik said he shot the film on the streets of Delhi and a small part of it in Dalhousie. Talking about his company’s name, Kaushik added, “I chose the name Karol Bagh as my company name because I was born there and spent my early days there.” Besides youngsters Ruslaan Mumtaz and Sheena Shahabadi, Tere Sang has Satish Kaushik, Sushmita Mukherjee, Rajat Kapoor, Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher as its cast.
