Survey of non-profit institutions

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Economics and Statistics Department of the State government has initiated a survey of all the non-profit institutions registered in the State.

The survey will be completed in December, an official press release said on Tuesday.

The aim

The survey is to gather information on how many of the registered non-profit institutions are actually functioning now, how many employees are working for each such institution, what assets each of them possess, how many of them are receiving government grant and whether they are maintaining proper accounts.

UN handbook

The survey is as per the initiative of the Central Statistical Organisation to furnish the list of such organisations for inclusion in a UN handbook.
