NAMAKKAL: The Namakkal district administration has launched a major drive to check food adulteration here on Thursday. Several teams of officials conducted surprise checks in thousands of commercial establishments in different parts of the district and seized a large quantity of adulterated food products. A team of officials led by Collector U. Sagayam inspected the shops in Namakkal bus stand and the nearby areas. The team found a few shops selling goods even after the date of expiry.
