Thefts: three arrested

DAVANGERE: The police have arrested three persons who have allegedly committed a series of thefts in Jagalur and Chitradurga. Property worth Rs. 5 lakh has been recovered from them. The police gave the names of the arrested as Raju (28), Paramesha (20) and Manjunatha (20).

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, Sandeep Patil, Superintendent of Police, said they had also arrested a man called Devendrachari who had purchased the stolen goods from the three.

He said the Circle Inspector on duty had interrogated the accused while they were moving about suspiciously on Kondajji road a few days ago, and found that they were trying to transport a few stolen articles to Chitradurga. The police are also searching for Shashi, another member of the gang, who is at large.
