NEW DELHI: Manupal Godara smashed seven goals to power Jaipur Polo Company (JPC)-Horse and Wagon to an 8-7 victory over Sahgal Stud-Tiger in a group ‘B’ league match of the Maharaja Hari Singh memorial 12-goal polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here on Thursday. Uday Kalaan was the other scorer for the winner, which qualified for the semifinals. Vishal Singh (6) fought bravely for the loser while Gaurav Sahgal chipped in with a goal. It was the second defeat for Sahgal Stud-Tiger in the three-member group as it had lost 8-9 to Navy on Wednesday. Angad Kalaan (6), Akhil Sirohi (2) and Vishal Chauhan had scored for Navy. Vishal Singh (5), Gaurav Sahgal (2) and Samir Suhag were the successful marksmen for Sahgal Stud-Tiger. Equisport-Classic also made the semifinals following a 5-4 victory over Cavalry. Shamsheer Ali scored all the five goals for Equisport-Classic, while Navjit Sandhu and Ravi Rathore scored two goals each for Cavalry.
