First H1N1 death in Palakkad district

PALAKKAD: The District Medical Officer, on Friday, said that one person had died of influenza A (H1N1) in the district.

This is the first confirmed death in the district from H1N1, he said here.

Manjusha, 17, of Thenmalayoram, Padalikkad, near here, died at Government Medical College, Thrissur, on Thursday. She was admitted to Palakkad district hospital with flu-like symptoms on Tuesday. Test confirmed that she had H1N1 infection. She was shifted to Thrissur medical college the same evening but could not be saved.
