GULBARGA: A meeting of elected representatives of the Hyderabad Karnataka region has decided take a delegation, under the leadership of Union Labour Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge and the former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh, to Delhi on December 5 to urge the Centre to amend the Article 371 of the Constitution to provide special reservation in employment and educational opportunities for people of the region. The meeting was convened by the Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI) here on Thursday. President of the HKCCI Umakant Nigudgi said that former Ministers Sharanabasappa Dharshanapur, Qamarul Islam, Subash Guttedar (all MLAs); K.B. Shanappa, MP; Shashil G. Namoshi, MLC; Amarnath Patil, Chairman of the Hyderabad Karnataka Development Board; Vaijnath Patil, president of the Hyderabad Karnataka Horata Samiti; B.R. Patil, former Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council; and Shivaram Moga, senior Dalit leader, were among those who participated in the meeting.
