CHENNAI: A woman who allegedly stole silver articles worth about Rs.1.83 lakh was taken into custody by the Thousand Lights police on Thursday.

According to the police, the owner of the jewellery shop located in a mall on Anna Salai noticed that some silver articles were missing. While scrutinising the footage in the surveillance camera, the shop managers noticed that a woman whose name was given as S.Sangeetha (22) of Chetpet, hired to clean the premises, was seen taking away some silver items.
