Karwar: Two complaints were filed in the Karwar town police station on Friday urging the police to find Minister for Ports and Fisheries Anand Asnotikar, who has been “missing for the past two weeks”. The complaints were filed by the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Narayan Gowda) and the B.R. Ambedkar Foundation of Bangalore. In his complaint, Praveen Kumar, president of the foundation, stated that the Minister had been “missing for the past two weeks and people of the Karwar Assembly constituency, who had been affected by the floods, were waiting for him to take stock of the situation. He urged the police to find the “missing” Minister. The vedike held a press conference before filing its police complaint. Vedike’s district unit president N. Datta alleged that Mr. Asnotikar was busy with politicking and did not bother to help the people of his constituency who had been affected by the recent floods. He said Mr. Asnotikar, who had been moving around with police escort, was now “missing”. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
