Inspection: A team from FKCCI at a factory in Shimoga on Friday. SHIMOGA: A two-member team of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) comprising Shweta Chaudhary and Sakshi Arora visited some industrial units in the district on Friday as part of its study to explore the possibilities of industrial growth. The team is expected to study aspects such as congenial atmosphere for industrial growth, lack of communication facilities such as road and railway link to Shimoga, availability of raw material and other facilities. It is likely to hold a detailed discussion with president of the Shimoga Chamber of Commerce and Industry K.V. Vasanthkumar, president of the Shimoga District Industries Association K.S. Anantharamaiah and senior industrialists on the steps to be taken to improve infrastructure for industrial growth in the district. It is learnt that the team members are likely to present a paper on industrial growth in Shimoga at the State-level workshop to be organised by FKCCI in Bangalore in the last week of November. The Government is expected to take action for industrial growth in the district based on the recommendations made by the team.
