Lawyer dead

Thrissur: Senior lawyer and former member of the director board of the Nair Service Society M. Venugopala Menon died at a private hospital here on Friday. He was 81. He had contested the Assembly elections in 1987 from the Thrissur seat as a UDF candidate. Menon was formerly president of the Thrissur Taluk Union, secretary of the Paramekkavu Devaswom, and legal advisor of the South Indian Bank, Dhanalakshmi Bank and the Catholic Syrian Bank.
