Kozhikode: As part of the Farm School project of the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), technical training will be imparted to farmers on crop nurturing. Those who complete the training will be given a free kit to control pests. A visit to farms will also be conducted to give insights into the various stages that lead up to the harvest. The Farm School will be carried forward by these farmers who take the training to pass on their knowledge to other farmers in their villages. A sum of Rs.6,000 will be provided annually to agricultural collectives like Kudumbasree units, self-help groups, ‘paadashekharams’ and other farmers’ groups. The training is open to farmers from Olavanna, Nallalam, Faroke, Beypore, Ramanatttukara, Kadalundi panchayats and Kozhikode Corporation. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
