New KSEB substation

KOZHIKODE: The inauguration of a 110-kV substation at Madavur, near Koduvally, on Saturday by Power Minister A.K. Balan is expected to give a boost to the overall development of the region, consisting of Koduvally, Madavur, Narikunni, Kakkoor and Chelannur.

C. Mohandas, Chief engineer for Transmission (North), Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), said the commissioning of the substation was part of the KSEB’s programme to provide sufficient electricity to meet the growing demand for power needed for development of backward regions.

The inauguration of the new substation at Madavur is expected to uninterrupted power supply to nearly 50,000 people. It has been set up in 1.83 acres of land at a cost of Rs.5.37 crore.
