Periasami. Delivering convocation address at Tirupur Kumaran College for Women here on Tuesday, he called upon the youth to try novel possibilities in their professional lives to turn the tasks that were looking ‘impossible’ into ‘possible.’ He commended the progress made by Tirupur Kumaran College, which remains the only women’s college in the country governed by a housing cooperative society, since its establishment in 1996. SkillsIn his address, Principal Secretary (Housing and Urban Development) to the State Government Surjit K. Chaudhary stressed the need to develop multi-lingual skills to make oneself employable in today’s job scenario. “Along with the development of language skills, youngsters should give importance to nourish their analytical skills and exercise the brains to cope with any stressful conditions,” he reminded. Tamil Nadu Housing Board Managing Director Dharmendra Pratap Yadav promised the college authorities that their request for financial assistance to construct additional building for the institution would be considered appropriately. As many as 534 students who had completed undergraduate and postgraduate courses from the college in 2008 received citations and medals from Mr Periasami. Of them, M. Gokila, S. Kalaivani and M. Divya were top rankers in Bharatiyar University in B Com (cooperation), B.C.A, and B Sc (microbiology). Likewise, D. Divya, V. Kirubalakshmi and L. Vijayalakshmi were first rank holders at the varsity level in M. Com, M Com (I.B.) and M.Sc (hospital administration). Minister for Highways M. P. Saminathan; Mayor K. Selvaraj; C.
